Thinking and Logic Skill Resources
For Elementary and Middle Grades
One of the items I frequently used for critical thinking and reasoning were puzzle and logic books from The Critical Thinking Company. This company offers a free logic puzzle every week if you provide an email address. The puzzles can be for elementary or middle grade students and are delivered to your mail box every Monday afternoon.
This is an example of a recent email geared toward 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students. It’s a sample from the Dr. DooRiddle Language Arts series, and this exercise is Associative Reasoning Skills.
Below are four questions. Give it a try in the comments. I’ll post the answers in the comment section Thursday evening.
You can find the Critical Thinking books at brick-and-mortar and online booksellers, and for homeschoolers at most curriculum sites and sellers. The website is https://www.criticalthinking.com/.
